The Oral Histories

No Longer Invisible is an oral history project about the lives of Asian American students and alumni from the University of Iowa. This project originally began as a response to the Atlanta Spa Shooting in March 2021; however, it quickly turned into a project that would aim to document a history of Asian American students on campus. When the Asian American student population first organized in 1998, they emphasized feeling invisible. This project hopes to address this invisibility. I can only hope that I have adequately shared the stories of the Asian and Asian American students that have so generously told me their stories. I cannot thank all of you enough for making this project a reality.

Some key highlighted groups are the Asian American Coalition, the Vietnamese Student Association, the Asian American Women's Group, The Asian American Law Student Association, Alpha Kappa Delta Phi, Pi Alpha Phi, Delta Phi Lambda, student employees of the Asian Pacific American Cultural Center, and individual students that have contributed to the Asian American community in various ways at the University of Iowa.
